GENERAL OVERVIEW
The Faculty of Education focuses on the production of trained and qualified teachers that are essential for the success of the free quality education programme in the country. It offers a wide range of courses designed for initial professional education programmes and continuous professional development of teachers. The degree Programmes are aimed at providing qualified graduates with knowledge and skills that will enable them to function as critical, reflective, competent and accountable educationists and researchers who can contribute to the development of education at community and national levels.

In addition to numerous private owned technical and vocational institutions, Government has established ten new technical and vocational institutes, and six are in the pipe line.  Thus the faculty offers programmes in Technical Education which is needed to produce the manpower to serve these TVET institutions. This faculty will be premier faculty for technical and vocational education training at all levels in Sierra Leone. The faculties of Education,   agriculture and engineering will provide technical training and pedagogy for TVET, teachers to take care of the numerous TVET institutions that have been established.
